Does your office perform cochlear implant surgery?
No. Cochlear implant surgery is performed by a qualified implant surgeon. Our clinic provides the audiological evaluation, programming, troubleshooting, and long-term follow-up care before and after surgery.
What is cochlear implant mapping?
Mapping is personalized programming of the external sound processor. Your audiologist adjusts how the processor delivers sound to the internal implant, based on your responses and hearing goals. Mapping is often refined over multiple visits.
Can you program an implant received somewhere else?
In many cases, yes. Please contact our office to confirm your specific device and manufacturer so we can let you know whether we are equipped to program it.
Do I need a referral?
Patients can generally schedule an appointment directly with our clinic. Some insurance plans may require a referral, so we recommend checking with your carrier before your visit.
